Baker’s was the vision of Jason and Angela Baker in 2016. A second-hand furniture shop to be transformed into what would soon become an award winning, upmarket, coffee shop, bar and restaurant.

In an attempt to restore some of the most beautiful character and history of the building, we delved deep into it’s past. A long-standing hardware shop, remembered by many with scales, signs and furniture used for display today to mark the history of the building. Dating back to the 1800s the building was once owned by the Co-operative providing a butchers, fishmongers, delicatessen and even a abattoir! The original sign was replicated and sits proudly on the metal girders in the front part of the restaurant.

A self-grown, family run business Baker’s really is. Everything about it was designed, built and installed by the family with Jason being at the heart of the renovation.

Three extensions in we now have three stunning floors and a beautiful outside garden area with further exciting plans to extend the bar and restaurant in the coming months.
